your footsteps, always too big
these shoes, they never fit
expectations and the weight
it’s sometimes hard to breath
and every day I tried so hard
it was never good enough
have you ever looked at me
and tried to see what I see
this is maybe the first time you hear it
but also the last time I sing it
all my life I was trying to get your eyes on me
but I has never been easy for me
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that I will never be
never be
and the irony is
I became more like you
than I wanted to be
but I guess it’s just the way
things are supposed to be
we are all our fathers’ sons
we all do what we can
whatever this means by now
this is maybe the first time you hear it
but it’s the last time I sing it
this is maybe the first time you hear it
this is the last time I sing it
all my life I was trying to get your eyes on me
but I has never been easy for me
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that you want me to be
to be the man that I will never be
never be
I've been jamming out to this album since 2015. It's awesome, not a bad track. Favorites are Pure, Your Sweetness, Absolution, and Supersonic Home. artaxdies
New York hardcore meets classic thrash metal meets Jane's Addiction-esque alternative on the Brooklyn crushers' sensational debut. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 13, 2023
One of my favorite albums of all time. Turnover really hit a sound here that resonates with me deeply, and I often find myself coming back to this record and falling in love with it all over again. The drums and bass are greatly underrated on this album, creating their own unique melodies that fit within the song and create something new rather than just follow the guitars. Nothing beats the somehow joyful and somber sound of this record. Rob Carpenter
